Skill level — Confident beginner. You’ll work in turned rows, make half double crochet increases, and hand-sew the panels and embellishments.
Materials — Sport-weight cotton in sage, forest green, tan, and red, plus a 2.5 mm crochet hook, 47 in / 120 cm of natural cord, and 49 sew-on pearl beads about 3 mm wide. You’ll also need a tapestry needle, a fine sewing needle and thread, scissors, a ruler, pins, and stitch markers. A small amount of stuffing is optional. Estimated yarn for seven trees is 25 g sage, 20 g forest green, 8 g tan, and 5 g red. Make one tree first to check your gauge and yarn use.
Display — For indoor decoration. Keep the cord and small parts away from young children, pets, flames, and heaters.
